Press releaseAs of July 1st 2007 Bayards Aluminium Constructies B.V. in the Netherlands and Danish Friction Stir Welding operator DanStir ApS, have entered into a co-operative effort jointly offering Friction Stir Welding production capabilities. Under the Bayards organization a new business entity is established called Bayards-DanStir Friction Stir Welding Technology. The co-operation relies on a complete transfer of DanStir´ extensive Friction Stir Welding know-how and experience built up over 7 years of operation in Copenhagen, Denmark. Key personnel from DanStir will be directly involved in the processing of orders co-operating with permanent Bayards staff. As such the facility will be offering front-end Friction Stir Welding services from commissioning the equipment in the early fall this year. DanStir´ Friction Stir Welding facilities in Copenhagen is moved to a modern production hall at Bayards head quarter in Nieuw-Lekkerland near Rotterdam in The Netherlands. Here it will compliment already existing large-scale machining capabilities incl. a 15 3.4 meter CNC milling gantry and an 18 meter profile machining center. The welding and machining capabilities compliment Bayards recognized fusion welding capabilities built up over the more than 40 years of history in the aluminum fabrication sector. In combination the technical capabilities offered will be unique in the European aluminum fabrication sector.
